Vietnamese restaurant “dop toy”

August 18th, 2009 Vincent W No comments

So today I went to this viet restaurant for dinner and I usuallly hate Asian places and this is why….

In Chinese we call it “dop toy” where you share a 8 or more table with 2 or more parties

I hate when Asian restaurants do this especially when the random group next to us looks like they just came out of the homeless shelter.

Rebuilding a shed

August 16th, 2009 Vincent W No comments

So over the weekend my mom decided she wanted to tear down the old shed and build a new one……..l-2048-1536-4354389e-ef13-424e-8fd6-ec72feaad354.jpeg

Tearing down the shed was a hard task because the old shed was rusted made of all steel and we had to cut it down piece by piece.

The new shed is vinyl and looks rather cheap and feels cheap but more lit and modern feeling. Building it was a little harder than I origanaly hoped as we had to repave the ground to place the foundation above

In the end I never want to build another shed again, it is a lot of work and sweat to get it built up. There is still work and cleaning to be done on the sides and I will do those overtime slowly. We also removed the two rose plants from the front of our house as it was starting to grow too large and pricks people as they walk by.

Tinker Bell gets a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

July 28th, 2009 Vincent W No comments

I recently came across this story, though a month late but seriously? Tinker Bell? A fictional character from Disney’s Peter pan gets a star with Robert Downey Jr, Ralph Fiennes, Sir Ben Kingsley, Cameron Diaz, Hugh Jackman, director Tim Burton, The Village People, Shakira, Felicity Huffman at the same time? I always thought stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was for LIVING human beings and not fictional characters. Maybe I should get one for my World of Warcraft Character………. I do not know about anyone else but to me this seems wrong, and degrading to everyone else with a hollywood star.

(just do a google search on “tinker bell hollywood star”  more references to this)

Grandeur of the Seas Cruise from Baltimore to Bermuda

July 11 2009 to July 16 2009

I have loved cruise ships since I was a young person, the concept of sailing away from one place relaxing and enjoying yourself away from the hustle and bustle of the city is one of my most cherished and favored moments. A cruise ship has a lot of people however, when you are on a cruise ship there is so much to do. This is not my first cruise nor will it be my last. The MS Grandeur of the Seas is a small ship for today’s size but it does not lack anything. The ship was exciting, full of entertainment from comedians and much more. I do not want to go into too much details for this vacation as it was a vacation I took with family and what happens with family should stay within the family however I have taken some pictures of things I seen that even though they are so simple and seen so many times it still makes you wonder how simple things can make one smile and enjoy themselves so much more than something complex.

And now for the few pictures I took that I will post online for everyone’s viewing pleasure.
(Please note: A lot of images were not posted due to the abundance of pictures and people and faces inside the pictures)

Sunset on the Ocean
We see sunsets everyday in person when coming home from work, school and play but there is a huge difference when you are seeing a sunset that comes out above the horizon while you are sailing peacefully watching the clouds and the sun move you just end up feeling more relaxed and feel like you are floating in mid air.

The Different Colors of Water
Look at the two images of water. Which one do you think came from Bermuda? Which one do you think came from Baltimore? Not a very hard question to answer now is i

Towel Animals
Anyone who has cruised before knows what the towel animals are these animals always gave me something to look forward to when I went back into the room even though I know there will always be one in the room. A Few Pictures from the Deck

These are just two pictures I took on the deck there were many more but I wont post those pictures as they are for me to see and for anyone who wishes to travel on a cruise ship to experience and find out on their own.

The fresh start after the 4 years……

May 17th, 2009 Vincent W No comments

NYIT 2009 Commencement – May 17th 2009 – Windy w/ rain!

As of today I have officially graduated from NYIT (New York Institute of Technology) with a bachelors of science in Engineering and Information Security. It was a long and expensive four years where I feel I have learned a lot about myself and the people around me. And there is this saying where you must let go of the past to ensure you have a stronger future, I finally understand what this saying means and I will start using this new learned understanding of this saying in my future.

Commencement is the day when you celebrate the years of work and effort you have placed into a subject or field of study, but at the same time, with academics it is also the day you celebrate the fact that change is needed for your future, some may wish to continue their studies and some may wish to start building a career. However in most Commencement ceremonies, it is the day you recognize and remember your friends from the past few years for the rest of your life. But this fact has always been misleading as on Commencement day it is also the day you realize where you will be in the next few years and you are able to look around at the people who surround you and see ideas and impacts they have made on you. No matter the decision Commencement day marks the day of change and the next few years of your future!

This may sound rather mean and unethical, however for me Commencement day was the day I saw who people really were; friends, colleagues, business partners, and people who really have no purpose in your life. And I will be making these changes over the next few days. Way before this Commencement ceremony there were 2 people who helped me throughout my college years, as little as they may know they have but the ideas, and the reasoning they have provided far exceeded any information I would have gotten from anyone else. My Commencement day was great because now I move on with a new beginning, a fresh start….. but here are the memories of my last day of my last 4 years……

Commencement photos: (Me receiving my folder and a handshake), (NYIT Main ceremony – large tent), (NYIT Bachelors Regalia), (The books and documents of information), (My NYIT School of Engineering and Computing Sciences Banner)

Commencement Video Webcast Link:
http://www.webcastgroup.com/webcast/window_new/frameset.asp?wid=0780517094691&n=&e2=&c=&nf=&nl=&r=&i=

Important Highlights:
- When the New York College of Osteothetic Medicine banner was being recognized, the banner carrier moved the banner up and the banner fell down.
- The announcer incharge of announcing the different schools of NYIT forgot to announce “The School of Engineering and Computing Sciences”
- May 2009 was the last year of Information Security – in the school ceremony the school for got to announce “Information Security”
- The senator of Nassau County announced a new bill passed granting all students with loans and parents earning under 200,00 a year will receive 2500$ in addition to their 2009 tax returns
- NYIT webcast feed crashed midway through the ceremony and the webcast was archived for later viewing at NYIT.edu/commencement
- With the two commencement ceremonies (school and main) it took roughly 4 hours.

rcigrandeur Royal Caribbean – Grandeur of the Seas
Baltimore, Maryland – Hamilton,Bermuda
July 11th 2009 – July 16th 2009

So after a long time of thinking, I will be going on a vacation with my family again after a few years of going on vacations with my friends. This trip can go in many ways so I am anticipating this vacation to see if it turns out good or bad. I will be travelling to Hamilton Bermuda again via Cruise on the RCI Grandeur of the Seas. This ship is much smaller than the other ships I have been on, however I was told by one of my friends this ship has a great crew and the food is better in a smaller ship than the larger ones. I guess i will see when I go onto this actual cruise. This will be my second cruise with Royal Caribbean International (RCI) and will be my second time visiting Bermuda.

This is a very early post on what is to come, however, I will try to keep a daily update with photos starting July 10th 2009. Lets see how this goes. Family vacation (w/ Dad’s side)…….

The New Update on Jackie

March 15th, 2009 Vincent W 2 comments

I only visit Jackie once in a whie now, however as time continues she amazes me in her size. She started off just a small puppy that was smaller than my arms. Now today she can stand up to my head and knock me down without even thinking about it. I will keep picture updates of Jackie as much as possible but here is the latest picture update. Today jackie is 8months and 2 weeks old. The tiles are 1feet.
